Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information AtlasAnalytics ("we", "us") collects when you use the AtlasAnalytics service (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It's written to be read, not skimmed past — if anything is unclear, email privacy@atlasanalytics.dev.
Who we are
AtlasAnalytics is operated as an unincorporated trading name. Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Consumer Law principles guide how we handle your data regardless of entity status.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password when you register.
- Workspace information — your organization name, industry, and the market scope (country, states, or cities) you choose to analyze.
- Product usage data — the locations you save, collections you create, alerts you configure, and simulations you run, so the product can actually show you your own saved work.
- Billing information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number; we only receive your subscription plan and status from Stripe.
- Local device storage — your theme preference (light/dark) and a short list of recently-viewed locations are stored only in your browser (localStorage), never sent to our servers.
What we don't collect
We don't require or store government ID, financial account details, or precise device location. The "locations" in AtlasAnalytics are business/market data points you browse — not your own GPS position.
How we use it
- To provide the Service — authenticate you, save your work, and generate the analysis you request.
- To process payments and manage your subscription, via Stripe.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
- To detect and prevent abuse of the Service (e.g. duplicate-account fraud).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of subprocessors to run the Service — we don't sell or rent your data to anyone else:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Cloudflare — application hosting and content delivery.
- Prisma Postgres — our database provider, where your account and workspace data is stored.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AtlasAnalytics or our users.
Location and market data
The market/location data shown in the product (population, income, competitor counts, and similar) comes from public sources — including the Australian Bureau of Statistics — and modeled estimates. It is not personal information about you, and Opportunity Scores and AI-generated explanations are modeled estimates, not guarantees.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your workspace data is retained in case you resubscribe, and deleted if you ask us to, or after a reasonable period of inactivity.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
Email privacy@atlasanalytics.dev and we'll action it within a reasonable time.
Cookies and local storage
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in — no third-party advertising or tracking cookies. A couple of small conveniences (theme preference, recently-viewed locations) are stored only in your browser and never leave your device.
Children
The Service is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
